Starfox Merc Corp:Who are we?
We are you, we are the logi who risks himself for a saving revive, and dropship pilot who runs interference past railgun instillations, we are the assualt rifle fire from behind saving your life, we are the heavy that tanks for the scout, the sniper that holds off an advance, and the HAV that breaks it. More than all that we are the all the people who have given a silent thanks for the small things that bind all us mercs together.
Starfox Merc Corp:What are our goals
We seek to create a community of likeminded individuals, so no matter how hard the fight, when the fifth sentinel in a row is coming round the corner, gun spooled and ready to burn, we all, even those outside our corp, have someone to share a laugh, and another magazine with. With this community we hope to act as a counterpoint to the lone wolf, or insular squads that we see, and allow the dust to clear, so we may see the brighter side of the community. Other corps may worry about their Kd's and scores, striving to reach pole position in leaderboards, but we dont care where we end up, or where we pass by so long as we enjoyed the journey, and the company we travelled in.
Starfox Merc Corp:What do we stand for?
We found ourselves based upon 3 principles.
Respect: We shall respect our fellow mercs, and no matter which team they are on, we shall treat them with the same respect we would wish to be treated with ourselves. This excludes BM'ing (Bad Mouthing) and other exploitations of the games to their detriment and to the detriment of the the games integrity.
Honesty We shall never use the ingame mechanics in ways that they were not intended for our own benefit, to do so would damage the intergrity, and therefore enjoyment, of the game for others. (No repeat hacking for points, spawn camping beacons or CRU's or otherwise abusing the mechanics)
Loyalty When we commit ourselves to any fight we give it our all, for we are loyal to those we have be matched with, and we shall never leave a fight because it was too hard, no matter the odds, because to do so would invalidate the unspoken trust mercs must place in each other. "I shall to my brothers and sisters be true and faithfull, and love all which they love, and shun all which they shun"~ A slightly modified oath of fealty.
Starfox Merc Corp:What shall we do?
As mentioned previously, it is the journey that counts for us, and their is no uniform activity you must partake in, but it is requested you talk a while in chat between games, or in them as a squad. Should planetary conquest be plausible for us, we'll try it, if all you want to do is play pub matches, go ahead. Once again, its all about the journey, and the company we have while walking it.
Starfox Merc Corp:How are we organised?
We are a rather informal group, but a database of members shall be kept, and ranks kept. the following is how the progession happens.
Guest: You have just joined us and are relativly unknown. inactivity would lead to a kick (untill you returned
Regular: You are a known member of the community, and unless reason is given shall never be kicked, the corp shall support you to its utmost ability.
Helper: You have helped the admin staff, or other players, and are generally considered one step below an admin position, with trust being placed upon you.
Paragon: The only rank that divulges from the rest of the progression, a paragon is an individual, who is as one would imagine, a paragon of our ideals, but refused (Or was refused) for whatever reason an admin postition, but are highly respected in the corp.
Admin: An admin is someone of equal respect as a paragon, but was given responsibility by the corp, should someone appear with a better right to the position, the acting admin may step down to a paragon to let the newcomer take the role, to prevent managment stagnating
For the sake of bolstering our numbers and creating this community all players shall start as regular until 20 players have joined.
Starfox Merc Corp:Who do we take?
Anyone, all requests to join are accepted, as we consider all mercs to follow on some level our principles, it is only on the field, where if you regularly show a disdain for the 3 principles and your fellow team, shall your membership be called into question.
You dont require a mic, as although teamwork is important, and often a component of the pure enjoyment we seek to propogate, its not exclusive.
Any tactic is welcomed here, no matter how strange, want to use assault dropships as antitank platforms?, we will support you. Heavy suit with dual smg's? Why not. Lav's as primary assault platforms? Great!
It should be noted we are based in the UK, however members from around the globe are welcome.

1. Although I am currently head of the corp, and Dfeji Toopt Below me, should anyone have any questions contact us.
2. I have recently lost a brother, a key member of dust university, and this is my way of remembering him, the above is the closest embodiement of his hopes for this game, and I ask anyone who reads this, to remember that the principles of respect of honesty should be followed at all times, even inside a game. |
